One price, agreed before a pixel is designed.
Ask three London web designers what a website costs and you will often get three answers that are impossible to compare: one quotes by the page, one by the day, and one sends a range so wide it tells you nothing. I price differently. You get a published starting point, a written scope listing exactly what is being built, and one fixed figure.
That figure only changes if you ask for something that was not in the scope, and even then you see the cost in writing before any extra work starts. No hourly meter running in the background, no surprise invoice at launch.
Three website tiers, set by where you are starting from.
A sound site that needs a fresh look, a blank slate, or a site with content and rankings to carry across: each is a different job, so each has its own starting price. Online stores and larger builds sit alongside them. The price buys the outcome, never a capped number of pages, and if you are unsure which one you need, the discovery call settles it.

Six things that move a quote up or down.
Design style rarely drives the cost. These do, and each one appears as its own line in your written scope so you can trim or add with your eyes open.
Content & Scope
How much the site has to say and how many services it has to explain. A focused five-service business and a firm with twenty specialisms are different jobs.
Integrations
Connecting the site to a booking system, CRM, payment provider or email platform. A simple link costs little; a two-way data sync takes proper testing.
Catalogue Size
For online stores: the number of products, how many variants each has, and whether product data is imported from a spreadsheet or another platform.
Copywriting
Supplying your own text keeps the cost down. If you would rather I write or rewrite the pages around search terms, that is scoped as a separate line.
Migration
Replacing an existing site means moving content and mapping every old URL to a new one with 301 redirects, so rankings built up over years are not thrown away.
Locations & Languages
Separate pages for several branches, or the same site in more than one language, multiply the content, the SEO setup and the testing involved.
Not in the project fee: the ongoing costs of running a website
A fair price comparison includes what you keep paying after launch. These costs sit outside my fee, and most are paid directly to the provider in your name, so you stay in control of them.
- Domain name: registered in your name and renewed with a registrar of your choice.
- Hosting: billed by the host directly. I recommend a plan sized for your site rather than the cheapest option. Shopify stores pay Shopify's own monthly plan instead.
- Maintenance: updates, backups and monitoring after the 30 days of support end. Optional, and available as a monthly website maintenance plan.
- Third-party licences: premium plugins, Shopify apps or booking software subscriptions, if your site uses them.
- Payment processing fees: charged per transaction by providers such as Stripe, PayPal or Shopify Payments on online stores.
From enquiry to fixed price in four steps.
Tell Me the Basics
Use the form below: what your business does, whether you have a site already, and roughly when you need the new one.
Discovery Call
A video call with me, not a salesperson, covering your customers, content, integrations and any deadline.
Scope & Fixed Price
A written scope: what is included, what is not, what you supply, the timeline and one fixed figure.
Go Ahead or Walk Away
No obligation and no chasing. If you go ahead, the price in the scope is the price, unless you add to it.
Scoping is a habit from enterprise programmes.
Programmes like River Island's move from Adobe Analytics to GA360, across nine international domains plus iOS and Android apps, only land on time when the scope is nailed down first. I scope a small business website with the same care, which is why the quote you sign is the price you pay.
Read the River Island case studyWebsite design pricing for London businesses, compared fairly.
When you compare website design prices in London, the headline number is only half the story. A low quote that leaves out tracking, SEO basics or a proper handover often costs more a year later, when you pay someone else to add them. Before you compare quotes, check what each one includes against the table above: is the design custom, is GA4 set up with conversions, is there support after launch, and who owns the domain and the accounts?
It also helps to compare like with like on timing. A quote priced by the hour or the day can grow quietly as feedback comes in. A fixed price moves that risk onto me, which is exactly why I spend time on scoping before I name a figure.
Start with where your business is today. If your current site is structurally sound and simply looks dated, a Website Refresh from £1,499 updates the visuals and content without branding work or a migration. If you are starting from a blank slate, the Starter website from £1,999 is the right starting point, with full visual identity work, and it can grow later without a rebuild. If you want a site you can edit yourself, WordPress website design is usually the platform behind it. Selling products changes the picture: an ecommerce website needs checkout, payments, shipping rules and VAT settings, which is why stores start from £2,499 and larger catalogues are quoted individually.
Replacing a site you already have? A website redesign, from £2,499, adds content migration, 301 redirect mapping and a proper pass through the content that has built up over the years, and that work protects the search rankings you have already earned. And if the plan is to grow traffic after launch, it is worth reading SEO pricing alongside this page, since ongoing SEO is priced separately from the build.
Whichever package fits, the process is the same: a free discovery call, a written scope and one fixed price. I work remotely with businesses across London and the rest of the UK, and you deal with me directly from quote to launch.
Pricing questions.
How quotes work, what is extra and what you keep paying after launch.
A Website Refresh, from £1,499, is a visual and content update on a site that is already structurally sound, with no branding, logo or migration work. A Starter website, from £1,999, is a blank-slate build with full visual identity work. A Website Redesign & Delivery, from £2,499, covers a real migration: content, redirects and the search value you have already earned.
Because businesses need different content, features and integrations. Each tier's starting price is where that kind of work begins, and the price buys the outcome, not a capped number of pages. After a free discovery call you receive one fixed figure in writing, and that is the price you pay unless you later ask for more.
Send a short enquiry, then book a free 30-minute discovery call. I ask about your products or services, integrations, content and deadline. Afterwards you receive a written scope with one fixed price, what is included, what is not, and a realistic timeline. There is no obligation to go ahead.
No. The project fee covers designing, building and launching the website, plus 30 days of support. Your domain and hosting are paid directly to the providers, in your name, so you always control them. Ongoing updates, backups and monitoring are available as an optional monthly maintenance plan, quoted after a quick review.
The biggest factors are the amount of content, integrations with booking, CRM or payment systems, the size of an ecommerce catalogue, whether I write the copy, and migrating an existing site with redirects. Each one is listed in your written scope, so you can see where the cost comes from and decide what to keep.
Yes. Every site is built so pages, features and integrations can be added later without starting again. Many businesses launch with the essentials, see which pages bring enquiries in GA4, then extend. Anything added after launch is quoted in writing first, so the cost is always agreed before the work begins.
Sometimes. If you only need a simple online presence and have time to set it up yourself, a DIY website builder can be enough. The usual trade-offs are speed, SEO control and tracking. A custom site costs more upfront, but it is planned around how your customers choose and measured properly from day one.
