FAQs

Common questions.

Scope, data sources, and what the insights were actually used to decide.

Building a centralised commercial insights function covering the UK, Germany and France across three product categories. The work brought pricing, promotional performance and competitive landscape into a single view, so commercial teams in each market finally worked from the same picture.

Because each market was researching independently, reaching different conclusions from different sources, and nobody could compare them. Centralising made it possible to see whether a pricing move in Germany was working better than the equivalent one in France, and why.

A combination of syndicated market research, retailer pricing data, promotional tracking and internal sales performance. The value lay less in any single source than in reconciling them into one consistent view that commercial teams actually trusted and used in decisions.

Pricing and promotional planning, primarily: whether a discount was earning incremental volume or simply discounting sales that would have happened anyway, and how competitors were responding in each of the three markets across all of the categories being tracked at the time.

Yes, at proportionate cost. You do not need syndicated research to understand your own pricing, promotional performance and main competitors. The discipline of reviewing all three together, consistently, is what produces the insight — not the size of the data budget.
